Covalent Furan‐Benzimidazole‐Linked Polymer Hollow Fiber Membrane for Clean and Efficient Photosynthesis of Hydrogen Peroxide

Photocatalytic H2O2 production by conversion of O2 in aqueous solution is often challenged the use sacrificial agents, separation powdery photocatalysts, solution, and contaminants, low activity photocatalyst. Herein, a membrane covalent furan-benzimidazole-linked polymer (Furan-BILP) with both O- N-containing heterocycles bonded via OCCN reported for first time as photocatalyst to harvest clean pure water high-performance. A coordination-polymer hard template strategy developed produce Furan-BILP hollow microfibers that can be further assembled into membranes desired sizes. The resultant directly delivers product high rate 2200 µmol g−1 h−1 water. Density functional theory calculations experiment results indicate C atom from Furan ring on linkage binds adsorbed OOH*, H OOH* forms hydrogen bond N benzimidazole ring, thus intermediate six-membered structure stabilizes favors 2e-ORR. using molecular engineering tune electronic macrostructural shape morphology may applied design other coordination organic photocatalysts improved performance.
